What’s Actually in That Bottle

How to Read a Keratolytic
A free mini-course for nail technicians

You probably own several callus removers. One for "rubber" heels, one for deep cracks, a gentler one for sensitive skin. The collection was built up gradually, and it's a sensible one. The question is a different one: are they actually different? Not by name, and not by the promise on the front — by mechanism.
These are not creams for pleasantness. They're active substances, each with its own mechanism, its own concentration, its own zone, and consequences when they're used outside it. In six short lessons — about thirty minutes — you'll learn to identify a product's mechanism from its ingredient list, understand what the percentage of an active really tells you, recognize where a claim and a composition part ways, and assess what your client is using at home before it becomes your problem in the chair.

This is a course about how to see. Protocols — dwell times, contraindications, work on skin that's already damaged — are a separate and much longer conversation.

Sonia is proof that the deepest expertise is transmitted, not just studied. She is Irina’s longest and most devoted student — someone who didn’t just learn the techniques, but absorbed the philosophy behind them. Trained with the same precision expected on set and on the runway, Sonia now brings that foundation into every lesson she teaches.
Some things can only be passed from one pair of hands to another.

Her salon in Camas, WA has become one of the city’s most trusted destinations, where podium-level technique meets genuine care for every client. When Irina became a licensed nail instructor in the US, teaching wasn’t a new chapter — it was the natural continuation of everything she had built.
